FAQ

What is CTR?

Click-through rate is the share of pageviews that result in an ad click. If 1,000 people see a page and 15 click an ad, the CTR is 1.5%. AdSense CTR typically runs between 0.5% and 3%, depending on niche, ad placement, and device mix.

What is CPC?

Cost per click is what an advertiser pays, on average, each time someone clicks their ad. It varies widely by topic — finance and insurance keywords often pay well over $1, while general lifestyle content might average $0.10–$0.30.

What is RPM?

Revenue per mille (RPM) is earnings per 1,000 pageviews, and folds CTR and CPC into a single number. It's the metric shown directly in your AdSense dashboard, which is why the calculator offers it as a shortcut alongside the CTR + CPC method.

Why do CTR + CPC and RPM give different totals?

They're two ways of estimating the same thing. CTR + CPC builds the estimate up from clicks; RPM is a single blended rate. If your assumed CTR and CPC don't match your real RPM, the two methods will diverge — use whichever numbers you're more confident in.

How accurate is this estimate?

It's a planning tool, not a forecast. Real AdSense earnings depend on your audience's geography, device type, seasonality, ad placement and viewability, and Google's real-time ad auction — all of which can push actual results well outside this estimate.

Does changing currency convert the numbers?

No — the currency selector only changes the displayed symbol. Enter your CPC and RPM figures directly in your chosen currency for the estimate to be meaningful.
